THE TEMPEST

In my first role as a calling stage manager for The Tempest, I was tasked with learning the intricate art of calling lighting and sound cues based on a variety of dynamic elements, such as actors' blocking, dance movements, and the flow of music. It was a steep learning curve, as I was calling a show from the booth for the very first time, with a full production team relying on my cues to create a seamless performance. In this fast-paced professional environment, I quickly had to synchronize each cue with precision, requiring not only knowledge of the show but an acute awareness of every movement, sound, and light shift on stage. I realized the importance of clear communication and collaboration across departments to align with the director’s vision. This experience refined my ability to multitask under pressure, build trust with my crew, and maintain a balance between leadership and flexibility. It was a transformative introduction to professional stage management, shaping how I approach future productions.​​
